In-person learning planned to resume Jan. 25
As we prepare to head out for winter break, we want to share the current school plans for January 2021, including changes to the district calendar and criteria the district will monitor to determine if plans may need to change.
Our goal is to resume in-person/hybrid learning opportunities for those who chose them and to do so in a way that allows for the continuation of in-person/hybrid learning for the remainder of the school year with minimal disruptions. Keep in mind, a full-time remote learning option remains available for the remainder of the school year for those who chose it.
Monitor Case Rates & Patterns (Through Jan. 15)
The district will monitor case rates and patterns daily through Jan. 15 and determine no later than that date if conditions support a return to in-person learning on Jan. 25 as proposed.
Criteria that will be used to monitor case rates and patterns includes:
Are case rates near/around 500 per 100,000 or are they consistently trending downward toward that level?
How much additional staffing capacity have we developed through substitute teacher and student monitor recruitment?
How have our limited in-person services for special education students, ACCESS testing and BASE participants gone?
How have other school districts that have returned to in-person learning before us fared in providing consistent in-person learning?
How have revised quarantine standards and voluntary COVID testing impacted the frequency and scope of quarantines for staff and students?
If a change to the proposed return date is determined, the community will be notified on Jan. 15.
