The Board of Education is scheduled to adopt the budget in June
Adams 12 Five Star Schools is excited to share that the proposed budget for the 2022-2023 school year provides funding to offer some sports for students in grades 6-8. The Board of Education is scheduled to adopt next year’s budget in June.
“Athletics are an important part of the adolescent experience,” Kylie Russell, Director of Athletics and Activities said. “Not only will students be physically active and learn about sportsmanship, but they will also benefit from these experiences that will help them grow academically, socially and emotionally while in middle school. Our students and families have told us that they want these activities back in our middle schools and K-8s, and we are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to our students once again.”
The district plans to start the school year by offering cross country for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in the fall and we hope to incorporate boys and girls basketball later in the school year.
