Adams 12 School Board Elections

The Adams 12 Board of Education has five directors that are elected at large to four-year staggered terms.  The District has a director district plan of representation which requires school board members reside in a specific geographic area.  The District’s Boundary Locator provides information regarding director districts for specific addresses.  A director district map and written descriptions of director district boundaries are available on the Board web page.  

Seats for Director Districts 3 and 4 are up for election in the November 2, 2021 General Election.  Candidates must be a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election and be a resident of the director district that would be represented.  Anyone convicted of commission of a sexual offense against a child is ineligible to run for school director.

Interested parties for school director shall file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 50 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the regular biennial school election. Nomination petitions will be available from Frances Mullins, Designated Election Official, at the Educational Support Center, 1500 E. 128th Avenue, Thornton, CO 80241.  Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Specific information regarding dates petitions will be available and the deadline for submission will be provided once the 73rd General Assembly adjourns sine die.
