Mission Statement:
The mission of the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Induction Program is to facilitate the growth of new educational professionals through partnerships that encourage reflective practice, build instructional repertoire, and maximize student learning.
Induction Program Goals:
- To support the professional development, teaching expertise, and personal well-being of new educational professionals
- To increase the retention of quality educational professionals
- To increase student achievement
- To promote the culture of Adams 12 Five Star Schools
Induction Program Information:
The Adams 12 Induction Program is designed for professionals with Colorado Initial Educator licenses. Successful completion of Induction is required by the state in order to apply for a Colorado Professional Educators License.
Induction Components:
- A two phase (two year), required professional development program
- Over 200 trained mentors; all subject, grade levels and specialty areas represented
- Resource library provided to new teachers and mentors through Induction department
- Mentor training provided
- Inductees are paid for required attendance at the August New Teacher Academy
- Weekly mentor support
- Individualized program available for those with three or more years of experience
New Teacher Academy (NTA):
Our first Induction event is the annual New Teacher Academy. All newly hired educators attend NTA, which will be held:

Colorado Licenses:
Initial License (Expires three years from date on License)
- Must complete an approved district induction program to move to a professional license
- Complete application packet from CDE
- Submit licensing fee
Interim License (Expires one year from date on License)
- Must complete an approved district induction program to move to a professional license if less than 3 years experience
- May have to take the State Colorado P.L.A.C.E. or national PRAXIS test to obtain Professional license
- Complete application packet from CDE
- Submit licensing fee
Professional License (Expires five years from date on License)
- Must complete 6 semester hours of course work and/or a combination of 90 hours of professional development activities
- Complete application packet from CDE
- Submit Licensing fee
